Cannot Play Downloads from Apple Music

I just signed up for Apple Music today (from my iPhone). I downloaded several songs to listen to offline. I'm unable to play any of them. Radio stations function. I tried turning iCloud Music Library off and on (and rebooting between) several times. I also closed the music app. I tried toggling cellular data several times as well (in both music and iTunes/App Store). Nothing seems to work. I've spent a couple hours trying to figure it out. Should I cancel before my trial period ends? I've been contemplating trying this for months and took the leap today... but, I'm still having to YouTube my music here.

Is this music you downloaded for offline use from Ape music? Make sure you've done all of the following

  • delete the song(s) from your library, then
  • logged out of iTunes/app store, rebooted and logged in again
  • Redownload the song(s) that you deleted and retry aying them. If this persists after all that, try clearing your RAM:
  • Hold the sleep/wake button until you see "slide to power off". Then let go of the sleep/wake button and had the home button for 10-15 seconds until it jumps back to the home screen.
  • Double click your home button and swipe up on the music app to close it.
  • Openusic and try again.


Let me know if all this doesn't fix it for you!

It would only read "not playing" each time I attempted to play any of the downloaded songs. I did remove them and try again. apologies for leaving that part out.


Now - you're my favorite person today. Signing out of, rebooting and back into iTunes and App Store worked. I feel like I should have tried that already. Either way, I'm in business. Thank you!
