Change so Pages is Not the default application

In Mojave - how can I change so "PAGES" is NOT the default application to open a document?

MacBook Air (2018 or later)

If you are implying the opening of .docx, then select any .docx file, and press ⌘-i for Get Information. That panel with have a Open with: section set to Pages, and from that selector, you can set it to Word, or LIbreOffice, or some other word processor. Click, and then follow-through on the adjoining Change All… button.


Afterward, double-clicking on .docx will not launch Pages.
