Can't Install Mojave: Error "The Recover Server Could Not Be Contacted."
I purchased a 13" MacBook Pro on Jan 9, 2018 and it was delivered with High Sierra. I updated to Mojave and decided to use "Migration Assistant" to merge data and files from my other 15" MacBook Pro. After doing this I realized it brought over a lot of data and my "system" storage was around 90GB. This seemed way too high so I quickly decided to reformat the HD and try to start fresh. Doing a back up was pointless since I have all the information on my other computer still.
After clearing the HD and trying to reinstall through the series of steps (Command + R) (Option+Command + R) and even (Shift+Option+Command + R) I still get the same error "The Recover Server Could Not Be Contacted."
I have read lots of threads with using terminal to change date but that does not help. Or maybe I am not doing the right date?
Here is what steps I took...
- Using Disk Utility I Erased Macintosh HD.
- Using Utilities I selected Reinstall MacOS.
- Warning "The Recover Server Could Not Be Contacted."
- Used Terminal to change tp current time and other suggestions as follow but none work for me.
ntpdate -u time.apple.com
sudo ntpdate -u time.apple.com
date 0112044719
