Reset Macbook Offscreen Windows

Sometimes I have an external monitor hooked up to my Macbook. When I disconnect it, many of the app windows are not accessible because they were on the other screen. Is there an easy way to bring them back to the main Macbook screen?

If you are Not using "Displays have separate spaces" the disappearance of any display in the set moves the opened windows from that (disappeared} display onto the nearest edge of a working display automatically, so that they will not be "lost".

If you ARE using "displays have separate spaces", those windows are merely in a separate space, and you can switch to that space or "swipe" it onto an active display.
