BSOD After Installing Boot Camp Drivers; Windows 7; Late 2009 iMac

I have a fresh dual boot install on my late 2009 iMac 27 inch: High Sierra and Windows 7. Things were working fine until I tried to install the Boot Camp drivers. After installing the drivers, I get the BSOD when I try to boot into Windows 7. I've tried workarounds such as changing the names of drivers thought to be the cause with no luck, e.g. https://discussions.apple.com/thread/5512303

Can someone please tell me what might be the problem? I can provide system information as needed.
