Whenever I text on my phone, the little text bubble comes up on my laptop

I turned off all notifications, and logged out of my account on iMessages on my mac book because my cousin would read my messages if I let him borrow my computer. So, at first it wasn't doing it, now whenever I text on my phone, the little text bubble comes up on my laptop, and if I click on it, it shows the number I am texting. How can I turn this off? It is really annoying and I don't see the point of not having the messages turned on, if they will come to the laptop anyway.

Thank you for using the Apple Support Communities. I understand you have a question about Messages.

When you say the text bubble appears on your Mac, where does it appear? It sounds like it might be on the Dock from your description, and if so, this is a feature of Continuity: Use Continuity to connect your Mac, iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, and Apple Watch. The best way to turn this off is to tap Settings > Messages > Text Message Forwarding; then, you'll most likely see an On/Off toggle next to your Mac. If you switch this off, this should clear things up!
