To turn off airdrop in MacBook Air

I have enable Airdrop in my MacBook Air and unable to turn it OFF. Can you help to turn it off. If I turn off bluetooth it will also getting off but i required bluetooth to be ON for speakers to connect son want airdrop to be OFF.

You can't turn AirDrop off, but you can set that nobody can send you anything. To do this open a new Finder window, go to AirDrop in the sidebar and at the bottom change the option 'Allow me to be discovered by' to 'Nobody'

As I understand it, AirDrop isn't something with an on or off switch. It's just there. If you don't want to use it, you don't have to.


You can change "Allow me to be discovered by" to No One.

Why do you want to disable it?


I've found articles that give instructions on how to disable it using Terminal. However, those are not instruction I feel comfortable passing on. Easy enough to find with a simple internet search.
