Creating a Movie from 8MM Scanned Images

Good day.

I have a little over 3000 scanned jpg's that I have scanned digitally from an 8mm film. I'm ultimately trying to create a movie that is viewable on my Apple TV for North American Standards.

I own both Final Cut Pro X and the Compressor 4.43.

I've tried several times to simply export as a movie with the Apple TV presets in Compressor. However, I basically get 3000 + mini movies or files.

Any suggestions how this can be achieved. I have the jpeg's imported into Final Cut Pro and on the timeline.

Sorry if this seems very remedial. Even if you could point me in the correct direction, it would be kindly appreciated.

I've never tried it with a group like that. Reverse the order in the Finder so when you select 2017-06-01 01.17.20 is at the top. Not sure why it would bring it into several movies. There are no consecutive numbers so if it can make one it should combine them all from the same folder. How many movies does it actually make from the 3000? Can you see what might be changing at the break point? Maybe you will need FCP to combine them.

Another suggestion would be to duplicate the images for protection, then - working on the copies - use an app like Better Rename:

to change the names to a uniform sequence of numbers.

Then create your image sequence from these renamed files.

Yes, they are sequentially numbered however using a date stamp. Does that make a difference?

Or do I need to rename them numerically as 1, 2, 3, etc?

I attempted this "Add Image Sequence" in Compressor using the titles (Sequence) attached.

But I get an export of several small movies when completed.

Meg's suggestion is a good one - and do heed the advice, and make sure to work on copies, just in case.

You do not need to use an extra application for renaming; Finder can do this.

Are the images sequentially numbered? If so import to Compressor as an image sequence. File>Add Image Sequence. Set the size and frame rate and export to Apple Devices. No need for FCP.
