HomePod pair echoing

Is anyone else having an issue with HomePods echoing? I have a pair of HomePods and when I play podcasts from my iPad Air 2, the playback often seems to echo as if the two speakers are slightly out of sync with each other. I can temporarily stop this issue by pausing and restarting the playback but the issue is persistent. I have tried moving, shaking and lifting the HomePods to see if I can improve the audio but nothing has worked so far. Any similar experiences or suggestions?

Perhaps it would be worth breaking the stereo pair, resetting both devices, and then making it again. Does your router have multiple channels? I.e. both 2.4GHz and 5GHz? If so turning one off might help as it will prevent devices from hunting for the best signal. Assigning fixed addresses in your router might also help.

Can't say I have an issue, although I tend to play content directly from the cloud rather than AirPlaying it. Are yours set up a stereo pair or two separate units you sometimes play to both of?

I have them set up as a stereo pair. I have to use AirPlay as I am not using iTunes for the podcasts.

I have this issue from time to time, using Spotify or iTunes. My remedy is to stop the music, wait a couple of seconds and play again. Usually it fixes it at the first attempt.
