Try VLC.
.mov is a container and not a format. Same as your AVI.
What codecs are used in the AVI. VLC should have an inspector or tool to find out.
Can you export it from VLC using more modern codecs?
QuickTime Player doesn't support many of the codecs used in AVI files as they are so old.
So what am i to do now? I want to burn the .avi file in toast so i can add chapters. Is there a newer program that sierra supprts tgat converts and burns to dvd an .avi file but that will allow the addition of adding chapters? Please help
or is there a third party codec i can download now that will work on this new computer
in what format? what would i convert it to? I assume if i convert to .mov I would still have same problem. Toast uses the quicktime codecs to decode audio in .avi and .mov files. any idea would be most appreciated.
