Nov 2, 2013 3:49 PM in response to Arnold Millerby cathau12,Accessing iTunes on safari was b*lls*it. Start up the iTunes program on you mac/computer, and access iTunes Store from there with your appleID, there it´s a verification step by step to follow. Everything worked fine after this was completed

Feb 23, 2014 10:34 AM in response to pudjam666by nikosan,At least this worked for me. I just Bought my Apple TV on Friday, and tried now to rent a movie. Got this error message. Going to my MacBook Pro, and I could rent the same movie without doing any updates of the paymentinfo. Either way I did an update as described here:
1) Go to iTunes
2) Go to your account settings (on my version of iTunes, I click my email address in the upper-right)
3) Click the "Edit Payment Information" button
4) Make sure everything is filled out correctly and click "Done"
Restarted the Apple TV box, and it worked!

May 18, 2014 9:45 AM in response to nikosanby Cralos,5) No need to restart AppleTV box, just go to AppleTV Settings and Logout of your account, then login again and it works.
Apple should be using 'push notifications' between its own apps, especially if AppleTV asks you to verify your account; you verify it and then AppleTV never knows about it because it has cached your previous account data that when you try to buy something it doesn't match because, well, you changed/verified your account!. (nice Apple QA team!... Steeeeeve!)

Jan 12, 2015 4:19 PM in response to Arnold Millerby hannaf355,So I had this problem as well. I kept putting the credit card 3 digit code in on iTunes on my pc as requested but to no avail. Then I decided to restart my Apple TV. Not simply put it to sleep but actually power it down. I believe I found this in the settings icon on Apple TV. Anyway, after I did that I went to purchase the movie again and this time Apple TV asked me for the 3 digit code on my credit card. I filled it out and VOILA! It worked! Hope this solution works for others. Glad to help others!

Apr 8, 2016 3:45 PM in response to Arnold Millerby DocChoc,I got this as well. Tried everything and verifying in account info just wouldn't help.
But this did work: I was attempting to rent a movie on AppleTV when it occurred, so after checking all payment info on the Mac (as it requests you to do) I proceeded to rent the same film on my MacBook Pro instead. When I got to the final "Are you sure you want to rent this film?" dialog I checked AppleTV, and it finally worked there. I just cancelled the rental on the Mac and watched it on AppleTV instead. Seems like (almost) renting from iTunes on the Mac somehow cleared up the glitch.
Hope this works for others as well!

Apr 28, 2016 9:48 PM in response to Arnold Millerby gabrieljorby,I just have solved the problem! What I did is:
- Change my AppleID password;
- Go to my Mac, in iTunes, then Go to "Store" menu then "View my account (email)";
- Reset all authorized computers to 0;
- Buy something on my computer's App Store, something at any price (1 euro, 1 dollar etc..);
- It will announce that you need to verify your account, enter the payment/card information that is missing..
- If you verification is done, then you can go back to the AppleTV, and change the password, it should be ok to purchase now.
Let me know if it works.
