I think it was only a few days ago when the „Smart Battery Cases“ for iPhone XS Max, XS and XR, were released. Today I noticed that and as an iPhone X User I wanted to know if I can use the Case from iPhone XS, for my iPhone X too.?

Even Apple's site is telling us that new Smart Battery Cases are only compatible with iPhone XS, XS Max and XR, I think that a XS case would fit the X. Not perfectly, but still. I guess so, because original silicone cases from XS fit the X. But I guess you should wait a little and then check it out in the store, when it's available.

I have exactly the same question. If the Apple Smart Baterry Case does not work on my current iPhone X, I will be very upset by Apple.

Why? They didn’t promise it will work with the X. Moreover, it’s stated that the Smart Battery Case is not compatible with the X.
Anyway, people report that it works, but you could experience issues with sound and microphones cause holes on the bottom of the case are made for the XS, not for the X.
