Strange marks on the side of apple pencil 2

I recently got my iPad Pro 12.9 a couple months back with the Apple Pencil 2, and at first with daily usage I didn’t see any problems/blemishes/wear and whatnot. But over time, and repeatedly docking the Apple Pencil, I began seeing these marks on it, and I’ve never been able to figure out exactly what it is, and how to clean it off if I’m able to. Anyone have any ideas? Or am I just going to have to skin this thing.

Those look like the charging contact points for the Pencil.

Looks like some metal particle migration that happens during charging.

Try just using a cloth with a small bit of soapy water to see if it will come clean.

Thoroughly dry of the Pencil once the marks come off.

Do not get any liquid near the Pencil’s tip.
