how do I disable small grey shadow box on ipad it contains an enlarger button,pause and exit

A small grey shadow box appears when I leave a movie and go to another site briefly. It locks my ability to move the screen sometimes. I have to go back,push the enlarge icon and then exit. How do I get rid of this box?
