NOTES - How to recover mysteriously vanished document?

I wrote a very important document in notes on my macbook. I then edited the format on my iPhone just to get the fonts aligned. And then it just disappeared. There is no evidence of the file ever having existed. It is not in the recently deleted. It is not in my iCloud.

Can anyone help?

I'm not sure this will work but if you have a Time Machine backup from before you lost the document, you might be able to recover it by restoring this folder…

~/Library/Group Containers/group.com.apple.notes

Make sure you have a good backup before trying this.
