I want to find out if a 250 GB Solid State Drive can be installed in my white macbook 13"mid 2007 and will the speed be substantially faster ?

You may be able to check with this mac-centric supplier of tested upgrade/replacement parts to reference specs your mac can use, they show several replacement drives and you could choose. Some higher specs are backward compatible to slower/older spec machines. At least some of these suppliers can give you information without purchasing; but after awhile their choice is determined to be a better path due to hardware, and advice.
