Apps go ‘missing’ all the time. Some time it would be interesting to see the number of ‘removed from the store’ apps, although I doubt we ever will.

I have several apps, mostly games, that have been removed from the app store due to the developer ceasing support. As more and more devices leave the 32 bit infrastructure and run 64 bit only (with iOS10 only 64 bit is supported, support for 32 bit apps was ended) there likely will be more.

Precisely, a trade off. Keep an older iOS that is less secure or update to a newer one but find a new mail app?

Technology and apps move on.

There are a lot of developers that jumped on the app bandwagon that are now finding that it’s not necessarialy a good get rich quick scheme but a long standing commitment that quite often costs more in the long run.

That’s one reason apps are abandoned, they fall out of favor and soon have less users than are needed to turn a profit. It’s soon not worth supporting an app that has a few dozen to thousand users who aren’t enough to pay the bills.

Or update to new iOS versions and have to constantly subject yourself to/deal with/contend with bug fixes and UI issues.

I am tired of Apple making users, and myself, iOS guinea pigs.

iOS 11 was a total mess.

iOS 12, it seems, has it own, unique issues, as well.

I favor software/OS stability over security any day of the week!

I own an iPad Pro and the biggest thing happening with all years and models of iPad Pros, right now, is iOS 12 has done something to diminish touchscreen response on these devices.

It is also starting to affect some 5th and 6th gen iPad users, as well.

This is a growing issue.

I have asked random questions to iPad Pro users online, to the many YouTube channels I subscribe to, and many have been experiencing this unresponsive touch screen issue on their various iPad Pro models since the introduction of iOS 12.

I am having no such touch screen response issues on iOS 10.3.3.
