Itunes won't recognize music cd

Using windows 10. I'm trying to transfer music cd's to my itunes but when I put the cd in my drive D drive, it doesn't show up in itunes. I can see it in my computer and it opens so I can see the files, but none of the music files will open in itunes or transfer. I even tried to import files but that doesn't work either. Basicall, I can't transfer my music to my itunes. Any ideas anyone?

If it is an MP3 CD, iTunes does not need to recognize it. Just drag the MP3 files to the Automatically Add to iTunes folder, and they will be added to your library.

If it is an audio CD, you must rip it per this procedure: https://support.apple.com/guide/itunes/import-songs-from-cds-itns2935/windows If necessary, consult the section on "If you have trouble..."
