Synchronize iBooks new collection between MacBook and iPad

So far I have not managed that a Collection created in iBooks and transferred to iTunes (both under OSX Sierra) shows up as new collection on my iPad. Same the other way around. New collections created on the iPad don’t make it to my MacBook. Is this only possible when connected to iCloud?

Apple’s help sites on iBooks focus more on buying and using Books and PDFs. I am looking for a real manual which explains for example, how to synchronize collections between iBoos in OSX and iBooks in iOS like in the above case.

How to Sync Non-iBooks Epubs and PDF from iPad Books to Mac books Hello, I have plenty of Epub and pdfs in my iPad Books.app. All legally acquired, not all from Apple. I have no problem syncing my apple purchases to my Mac - but I cannot sync the non Apple ones. Neither can I sync the PDFs. Both my iPad and mac are with the latest version (ioS11 and Big Sur) with all updates applied. Both have all options for iCloud on (I checked so every thing I could find is on) and I have plenty of space on iCloud. and of course both iPad and mac are connected to the same apple store id (which is different from my iCloud id) I am just at lost of where I should be looking. I have the sync for iCloud drive ON for the PDFs (on the iPad) but cannot find where on the drive these are ! or is it something I should do manually 1 by 1 ? Any idea of what option I am missing ? thanks

sync ipad books to mac How do i get my ipad Books library moved to my MAC? -Logged in both devices with my AppleAccount -Both icloud and books enabled -Synchronise books in ipad books app is on -8 of my 150 books sync however, rest not When i connect my ipad wired to my mac and open via the finder the ipad i can select at the books tab sync, but then my empty book list on my mac will be moved to ipad...resulting in deleting all my ipad books. Any help welcome...
