Where are “record audio” shortcut files saved?

I have a short cut to “record audio.” Tap the screen to start... tap the screen to stop. Can’t figure out where the files go! They aren’t on my iCloud Drive or stored in the “files” folder on my phone. Not in Voice Memo app either. Where the heck are they?!!!

It sounds like you need to add an action to your shortcut. When writing a shortcut, every action you want to occur needs to be written out. If you did not have the save file action, your previous recordings were not saved.

I am guessing your shortcut currently look like this:

Record Audio

Audio Quality Normal

Start Recording On Tap

Finish Recording On Tap

You need to add the Save File action.

Your shortcut should match the one I made below:

-AJ

Thanks so much. It took me a little while to figure out I needed to swipe up in order to add the “save file” option.

I’m surprised it’s that complicated. They should just automatically save to the Voice Memo app. What a bummer. Wish I hadn’t been lazy and just opened the voice memo app rather than use a shortcut that doesn’t save the file.
