[AirPods] Without charging case use

Hi;

I've seen an other thread enlighten me for the fact that the charging case is not needed to use the Airpods.

But can they actually could be turned off in order to save battery ?

For example, I wanna keep my EarPods in my pocket all days long.

Get them out for use and put them back on the pocket without the charging case.

Will they turn off to save battery or will they "stay on" inside my pocket and empty for nothing ?

Thank you for your answer that will determine my purchase or not.

There is no way to turn them off other than taking them out of your ears. Why do you want to not use the case? Far easier to lost them without the case and they will charge again when you place them in the case.

Actually, putting them in my pocket will it activate the proximity sensor and so turn them back on ?

Or will they stay off until I put them on ear again ?

To answer your question, I often don’t take jacket nor bag so I carry the extreme minimum since they all have to fit in my pants pockets...

Putting them in your pocket should hot activate the sensor at all. Even if they did with no activity they will shut down pretty quickly. Must be awfully small pockets if they can't accommodate the case. Just remember if you use them for calls and you run out of battery you will be stuck.
