the mouse that came with my Mac Pro has no compartment cover, how do you recharge the batteries?

The new Magic Mouse is rechargeable via the port near the end of the mouse. You will need to use the cable included with the mouse.

The charging cable is a standard USB-Lightning cable

The charging connection is on the bottom of the mouse on the end opposite the LED sensor
