Poor text quality on iphone XR, blurry

I never had any issue with Apple ever with the products that I purchased. This time, I got worried. I got my brand new Iphone XR Yellow 128 GB recently, and heck I could not sleep last night! I can very clearly see blurry text. It is in almost every app. On yahoo mail app, on settings app, etc. Even from a normal distance, one can notice that text is blurry. It is not sharp as is sharp on iphone 6, 4 etc. Rather it is terribly blurry. By blurry I mean to say that I can notice small blurr (as if pixels are breaking out) around the edges of alphabets. I have seen some other people posted this problem too, and one reply was that Apple might fix this issue in software update or Apps will update to optimize content for Iphone XR. Neither has happened so far. Am I the only one experiencing this problem or is it common to all iphone XRs?

I must say that videos look excellent, sound quality is above par. All in all, I love this iphone XR, except the display. Hey, Apple, I need razor sharp text like iphone 4, 5, 6 etc...not blurry text on a 2019 device. Comments please. Here, there appears to be no genius bar in my city. I doubt that telephone operators from whom I purchased this device via post, will be knowledgeable enough to answer my concern. All they can do is take my phone for service or expert review to another city. But then I worry that my iphone will be opened or put to tests unnecessarily and therefore unnecessarily waiting time of one month or so, if the issue is just common to every other iphone XR. Any comments by knowledgeable experts and other iphone XR users?

if you have not done so yet, try a 'Hard Reset' on the iPhone XR and see if that helps.

How to Force Restart iPhone X, iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, and iPhone XR

  1. Quickly press and release the Volume Up button.
  2. Quickly press and release the Volume Down button.
  3. Press and hold the Side button until the Apple logo appears, then release the Side button.

If not schedule a visit to your local Apple Store with a Genius http://www.apple.com/retail/geniusbar/ and have them take a look at it.

Hi There, Even I have display quality Issue with yellow tint comared to other Xr Devises and as you said even Text Dosent look that Criesper compared to other devises. I have been posting this issue with apple customer care but no responce from them. For your reference I will post a picture comparing Two XR devises Side by side with same displaysettings in the both devises and if you observe clearly you will be able to know the difference between two Displays. And the shot was taken in I Phone XS.Please kindly comment if you find any difference between the two.

It's impossible to accurately diagnose display differences from a photo like that simply because they are at different angles, and LCD displays as used on the XR lose color accuracy and clarity when viewed off-axis.

If you are concerned, your best bet is simply to take it to your local Apple Store or other authorized service agent to be examined.

If it's an Apple Store you can directly show the staff helping you the difference between yours and another device.

I noticed the exact same issue you mentioned with XR fonts being so blurry - especially when you turn on “Zoomed View”! It’s not a problem with ppi as I compared it side by side with my iPhone 4S and 6S Plus and iPad retina and iPad Air. All of the other devices did not have this blurry fonts issue. The iPads actually have lower ppi than the iPhone XR, and yet the fonts on the iPads are perfectly crisp.
