After updating my MacBook Air, the next step asked me to enter my iPhone passcode. After which, my MacBook showed the screen below and it has been frozen like this for about an hour. Help please!

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities. I can see from your post that your MacBook has frozen on a certain screen. I know how inconvenient this can be and I want to help. If you haven't done so already, I'd recommending forcing your Mac to shut down as explained in this link here: How to turn your Mac on or off
Once off, power back on and see if this happens again and let us know the results.

Before doing a hard stop (which is not healthy for the mac) press and hold Power button
Try this
press Option+Command+Esc together and see if a new scree shows up allowing you to force quit apps.
Thank you for your replies! My problem got solved by clicking the “not now” option. It probably had problems with the find my Mac feature.
