IPad pro 2018 & ethernet speed

can someone confirm that maximum wired speed is 1Gbps? a speed test made from a FTTH internet connection while ipad is connected only with ethernet would void every doubt about the question.

802.11ac 5ghz wifi is enough for me but at home in my desk if I could use the ethernet to USB-C adapter and use all 1Gbps speed would be great.

Yes. The Apple Ethernet Adapter does support Gigabit Ethernet.

However, just because an ethernet port/device can support and connect to Gigabit Ethernet, you should not expect to see sustained data transfers at that speed - particularly with low power portable devices such as your iPad. As such, you are unlikely to see any substantial speed benefit using a wired-interface unless:

• Your WiFi network is heavily contended/conjested.

• Your WiFi network has poor signal/noise or high interference that reduces throughput.

Remember also that WiFi provides and promotes portability - whilst the wired connection is tethered.
