So I think I accidentally deleted "Photos Library.photoslibrary" file when deleting a bunch of old images. Now I can't open Photos. I've been doing daily backups with Time Machine to an external HD. Help!
Was your library located in your Pictures folder? If so go to the Pictures folder and enter Time Machine from there. Once in TM go back in time until your library appears. Select it and restore.

You can restore it to another location by Control (right) - clicking on it in Time Machine and selecting "Restore xxxx to..." from the contextual menu;
and select the destination.
Have you tried restoring the library from your Time Machine backup made just prior to this problem starting?

So the plot thickens . . .
I can't open my Photos library. However, this afternoon I connected my iPhone to my Mac, and the Photos library opened! I was able to upload a photo from my iPhone and edit it. However, I still can't access the photos outside of that.
