Every time my phone goes off it disconnects from my WiFi. I have to reconnect every time I use it. Why?

Need more details. What do you mean by 'phone goes off'? Do you mean when it goes into sleep mode? Then you say you have to reconnect every time. Does that mean you have to enter your WiFi passcode each time or select the WiFi network when you take your phone out of sleep mode? What exactly is happening?
Yes sleep mode. I have to go to settings and reconnect to WiFi, don’t have to put in passcode. Only happens on my phone, my iPad is fine
