emails won’t stop downloading.
I bought a new Apple IPAD 3 days ago. I set up my email and I can’t stop it from downloading emails from a year ago! Thousands have been downloaded and keep coming when I delete them. What should I do?

You don't have to. Try fixing your iPad first by removing the POP mail account and adding it back as IMAP account. If you like the result, you can do the same on your iPhone.
To stop it from downloading, temporarily disconnect from the internet by turning off WiFi or cellular data.
What type of email account did you create? Who is your email provider? (do not post your entire email address in this discussion).
What email servers should I use for my Cincinnati Bell email?
Make sure you're using IMAP mail account for incoming mail. Your settings should be as follows:
1. SMTP (Outgoing)
a. Server: smtp.fioptics.com OR smtp.fuse.net OR smtp.zoomtown.com
i. STARTTLS
1. Port: 587 or 25
2. Encryption: STARTTLS
2. IMAP (Incoming)
a. Server: imap.fioptics.com OR imap.fuse.net OR imap.zoomtown.com
b. Choose one of the following:
i. SSL/TLS
1. Port: 993
2. Encryption: SSL/TLS Required
ii. STARTTLS
1. Port: 143
2. Encryption: STARTTLS
Do you get a lot of email in your Inbox (over 100 email a day)?
My provider is Fuse through Cincinnati Bell.
This email account is just my home email. I usually get approximately 15 emails a day.
It is listed under pop, do I delete my account from my iPhone too?
Try removing your mail account from the iPad and adding it back with the above info from Cincinnati Bell. I suspect you're using POP mail account. With IMAP account, you should only get a few days worth of mail in your Inbox.
