Applecare+ for MacBook Pro 13inch 2018

I just purchased AppleCare+ for my new MacBook Pro. I believed that the coverage offered 3 years of support however when I log in with my serial # to confirm coverage AppleCare states that I only have 2 years. Below is what it says. Can anyone offer any guidance as I am confused why it would say this.


"With AppleCare+ you get up to two years of service and support for your product, including up to two incidents of accidental damage from handling, each subject to a service fee.

Coverage end date: January 21, 2022"

MacBook Pro w/ Touch Bar (2018 or later)
