Wacom Cintiq 24HD Touch

I am looking at a very expensive piece of equipment that can not be used, presumably down to lack of appropriate connectors.

I have a new iMac 27" (January 2019) and an old Cintiq 24HD Touch. The Cintiq continues to work fine with an old Mac Pro (2008) and with various Windows machines.

Because of what Mac did with the Mac Pro I decided it was time to switch back to Windows but decided otherwise under pressure from colleagues.

Now I find that I cannot connect the Cintiq and new iMac together!

Apple couldn't care less and Wacoms bizarre help line is worse than useless. I think they are taking the Micky, to be honest.

Long story short, can anyone tell me, a decidedly non technical and deeply troubled want to be ex Mac user, how to get the Cintiq and the Mac to work together, please, Please, PLease, PLEase, PLEAse ...........

Thanks very much for your reply, very prompt reply! I shall bear that in mind once I solve the immediate problem.

I cannot physically connect the iMac and the Cintiq 24HD Touch together! Incorrect connector.

I am told that I need a DVI to Thunderbolt connector, but that it must be an active connector. Not only can I not find anyone who can provide an appropriate active connector, I can't even find anyone who is certain exactly what an active connector is!

If you have any idea where I might aquire an appropriate connector I would very greatly appreciate the info. I am currently in the UK.

Regards,

Steve.

The Cintiq connects easily and continues to work fine on all the other computers.

Unfortunately it appears that this is not correct. A straight Thunderbolt to DVI will not work. There are many reports about this problem, but no solutions.

I just got an email from Wacom, "You should check the spec before buying the Mac." Just the sort of help I welcome. Good on you Wacom, (who also have no idea what an active connector is, despite it being required to amke their tablet work).
