Refresh Rate of iMac Mid 2011
Does anyone know the refresh rate of an iMac 21.5-inch, Mid 2011 (macOS Sierra v10.12.6) and where to locate it/how to change it? I called Apple Support but they were unable to help. Thanks

The refresh rate of nearly all Macs is 60Hz and there's no way to change it.
Dialabrain (or anyone else!) - I've done a little bit of browsing and it looks like I'm looking at a gaming monitor - do you know if I need a specific graphics card to run a higher refresh rate? I'm very green, so apologies if stupid question.
Yes, good idea :) Only problem is that I even get headaches from not directly looking at the screen, but from peripheral vision also, so if I go into an apple shop, I might get a headache from the other screens!! I really need to sit with one without any other screens around me, so would have to purchase one and send it back if it still gives me headaches.
You're welcome. Sorry about the headaches.
Thank you dialabrain.
OK thanks. I guess I'm looking at a new computer then!
You're welcome. FWIW, the latest iPad Pro's have a 120Hz refresh rate.
Thanks. Had a look, but not sure my budget can stretch that far! Would want the additional keyboard as well. Suppose I could look at the finance options.
You're welcome. I was actually thinking it might be worth your while just to have a look at them to see if the faster refresh rate helps your head.
Thank you dialabrain. I thought as much. I'm getting very bad headaches from this and other computers/mobile phone screens, so guessing I need a higher refresh rate, over 75Hz.
I don't believe you can replace the video card in your iMac even if a different card could support a higher than 60Hz refresh rate.
