why does my apps go weird on my ipad air

First, close all of your apps and restart the phone.

The next step we’d like to try is resetting all of your device settings back to their defaults. Keep in mind this will revert all settings that you've customized or changed (including things like your Wallpaper and alarms). This means you may need to reconfigure some of those settings including network settings (so be sure you have your Wi-Fi password handy).

Before we do this step, it’s always a good idea to be sure you have a recent backup of your device. You can learn more about backing up your data and settings here: About backups for iOS devices

You can reset all settings by navigating to Settings > General > Reset All Settings.
