iPhoto library won't sync to iPhone 4

Hi,

iTunes is no longer syncing my iPhoto library to my iPhone 4. Everything was syncing fine when I first got the phone, but, over the past week or so, it's stopped syncing photos.

Now, after attempting to start from scratch by deleting all the photos on my iPhone, iTunes won't sync ANY photos from iPhoto back to my iPhone. I've restarted my phone, computer, etc., force quit all photo-related apps on my iPhone, and tried various combinations of turning iTunes' photo syncing on/off, switching photo sync folders, etc., all to no avail -- I can't get my iPhoto library back on to my iPhone no matter what I do.

Anyone encounter a similar situation? (I've already sent feedback to Apple.) Thanks in advance.

Hello, it is a know issue and my understanding is that this will be solved with IOS4.1
Big question is when this will be released.
Work around is to export your photos you wish to have on your iPhone into a dedicated folder and click that in iTunes to sync and your photos will appear on your iPhone.
I hope it works for you,
Cheers.

I have the same problem with my iPhone4 running iOS4.1, but also with my Apple TV running the latest OS and my iPod Touch which is still on version2. iTunes can sync photos from folders but not from iPhoto. Started a couple of weeks ago and is really annoying. I've deleted the iPod Photo Cache, rebuilt the indexes, fixed permissions and tried every fix on the boards - but nothing has worked.

Please Apple - I have all these gadgets plus 3 iMacs a MacBook and a Mac Mini - get this fixed!

Thanks.

Same problem as everyone else..
My iPhone shows up on iPhoto and I can see the pictures in my phone, but the pictures in iPhoto won't sync to the phone. iTunes tells me its syncing, then it just says the sync is finished.
I have found that importing pictures from folders works though, it's just the iPhoto sync that has the bug. hopefully they fix it soon.

Same issue as everybody else. I have OS 10.6.4, IPhone 4 with iOS 4.1, iTunes 10

In regards to BakerBruceW's post from Aug 30, 2010 8:44 AM:

Your suggestion to unsync the music worked. After that iPhoto immediately recognized the iPhone and imported as usual. Before I tried both the 'delete cache' and 'turn off and on iphone', to no avail.

I noticed there was something funny in iTunes about the size of the free space. Even though iTunes recognized the iPhone and synced, it did showed I had about 2.5 times as much free memory as I actually had. Adding the space taken and the free space totalled about 40GB of iPhone memory, which is 8GB beyond what my IPhone has. So this was screwy. Given that removing the music from the phone made it then put the pictures on, I suspect there is some memory issue.

I have to say, Apple is losing my trust. iPhone 4 has bad reception, lies ackward in my hand, and hangs regulary. iPhone 3G and 3GS never had issues this bad. On top there are some other hang ups with the new OS 10.6.4 on my MacBook and now iOS 4.1 caused the iPhoto issue. Iphone still has no to-do list (my Psion in 1995 had that) and MobileMe can only share calendars in Beta...in 2010. Seems like products get pushed without proper thought and testing. If I wanted that sort of BS I might as well go Android.

I tried stopping music syncing as well but it doesn't fix anything. Now on my Apple TV I simply have no media at all. I can sync music and videos when I turn it back on but never photos from iPhoto. Works fine from folders. Same with iPhone4 and iPod Touch.

Does anyone know how to contact Apple Support directly? I've searched for a link on the website but only find these forums.

Thanks.
