Changing Apple ID and loss of existing data
I have two iphones on one appleid, how do I create a new appleid on one of the phones? And, by changing the Apple ID will I lose all existing data on the phone that gets changed?

Thank you very much! It was much easier than I expected to accomplish changing the Apple ID on one of two iPhones sharing the same Apple ID. My issue was I didn’t want to lose all the existing data on each iPhone that had been acquired over time. Simply checking the box to save contacts, notes, etc before logging out of the existing Apple ID solved the problem. Then logging in with th new Apple ID and backing up to iCloud made the transition easy. My wife and I had been sharing the same Apple ID for years. With current software updates glitches started happening like not being able to text each other and receive notification which made texting between the two phones worthless. The simple transition to have separate Apple ID s resolved all issues followed with implementing Family Sharing. Thanks again for your help!
I believe Contacts and Notes will ask if you wish to keep the existing data on the phone as you sign out of the first Apple ID.
You will lose the phone's copy of the data, but not anything that is synced to iCloud with that Apple ID.
Then my question Is it possible to retain the existing data on the phone that changes it’s apple ID? My biggest issue is losing all the contacts and notes.
