My macbook air 2013 had issues with keyboard, apple support quoted about $200 to fix it. Instead of fixing it, I purchased a new macbook air 2015 and applecare (about $260, as suggested by the apple store ).
Now, macbook air 2015 has display issues. Apple store quotes $600 to fix it. Although I have applecare, apple support won't fix display issues. I am wondering why did I buy applecare.

AppleCare extends your warranty to 3 years past your purchase date. If you purchased it in 2015, then the AppleCare coverage would have expired in 2018. You can check your coverage here:

My appelcare is valid until July 2019. It looks like applecare will not cover displays. There is something called applecare+ which would cover displays. But this is only available now.
