Should i Order iphone 4 through att or apple?

hey people i was just wondering if i should order my iphone 4 through att or apple? its just a question to help me chose from where to order. please list your experience with ordering and everything else. i just want my iphone 4 to get here as soon as possibe!!!! i will probably order monday morning or so. oh and dont get me wrong i know ill probably have to wait about 3-4 weeks to get it but i wanted to know your experiences dealing with apple or att...umm cough cough..crappy provider..umm sorry =] thanx

from what i've been reading on here your best bet is to order from att, my sister ordered on 6/16 from apple.com and still hasn't received her phone. i read someone on here ordered 6/23 from att and they have their phone. looks like att orders are being taken care of first

I would definitly recommend going through Att. I ordered mine on the 9th, and it's now in seattle. If it wasn't Sunday I would get it today. So Monday it is. Apple is taking up to tree weeks to ship. Good luck.

did your order say "backordered"?
a friend that i went to high school with ordered his on the 8th at night from att, he told me it said it was backordered and that it would take 10-14 days to ship. he also checked his order status friday and it said 'processing'?

As of current, the backordered just means that even though they do have iphones in their inventory, it is there to help them process them to first who purchased an iphone 4 (first come, first serve basis), and AT&T has been good when shipping their products as the Apple store is in crisis.

so what you are saying is that they post the backordered so that you dont get impatient and they have time to ship the phones to whoever ordered them first and when your order is up they take off the backordered?

It took me 4 days to get a i4 by going to the apple store and putting my name on the reservation list...good luck

dremarq--I put my order in @ the Apple store Arden--about 10 days ago,
I have only recieved the "we will talk soon"
email.
I keep hoping to get the "Moving up the list" email.
I called last Fri. and they said I was 472 on the list ?!

well from what i been reading on here and at the att site, i think i will order online through att because they say it will ship within 7-14 days and that sounds better than apples 3 weeks(who knows if its actually 3 weeks because i been hearing people who ordered through apple almost a month ago and still havent seen an update on their order status that says shipped) i also got on the waiting list at my local best buy and i am on the 4th page and they are all front and back (i am probably like number 200?) they said they been receiving shipments every week on fridays and they they get about 40-50 phones per shipment. but i saw that most ppl ordered a 16gb so i just told them that i wanted a 32gb see if i have any luck there) i will place an order through att tomorrow morning too

Ordered mine through AT&T on July 3rd, and it is supposed to arrive tomorrow by 3 pm, per the tracking info.

Att says 7 to 10 day but the ships early. My boss got his in less than 7 days. I ordered mine on 6/15 7AM and got it on the 24th but it said cancelled on my order status on my account.
