Bad Apple Authorised Service Provider experience.
My 12' MacBook 2015 recently went to an approved apple service to have it's keyboard replaced under the service programme. I got it back repaired and all seemed fine until I realised that my USB-C would only charge in one position (i.e I flipped the connector over 180 and plugged it back in and nothing).
When I tried to connect my iPhone via the USB adaptor I also got the USB disabled - using too much power warning (but again...only when plugged in face-up). Tried SMC reset etc to no avail.
I then googled the store I took it to which had bad review after bad review, so I took it directly to an Apple Retail store who verified the fault and agreed to repair for free. They ordered a new USB-c and flex and told me it would be ready in a few days. Just had a call from Apple to say that the new parts didn't work and the fault persisted, and now they would look to replace the logic board (again with no cost to me).
Great service so far from apple (as it's out of warranty).
Do you think this was caused by a very shoddy repair as it would suggest? I think the fact apple are willing to cover this without even asking says a lot.
