EXCLAMATION POINT WIFI ICON

I can connect to wifi via"Join other networks", however, since the Mohave update, I no longer have the wifi icon and network drop down. I have an exclamation point icon.

Hello janalyn288,

Thank you for using the Apple Support Communities.

It sounds like you're running into some issues with Wi-Fi connectivity. To clarify, are you able to access Safari and other network-connected apps while this is happening?

Generally speaking, the exclamation point you describe is often related to WEP security protocol on your network. While this link specifies OS X 10.6, this information may still be helpful based on what you're seeing: Mac OS X v10.6: Exclamation icon displayed in Wi-Fi menu after entering a WEP password.

You might also want to try running Wireless Diagnostics to see if this can pinpoint and resolve the issue. Check out this link for the steps you'll need: Check for Wi-Fi issues using your Mac.

I hope this get you started!

Cheers.
