I have the iPhone 8 and an Acura MDX I haven’t had any problems until I recently upgraded to the new iOS 12.

I have the iPhone 8 and an Acura MDX I haven’t had any problems until I recently upgraded to the new iOS 12. Does anyone know if Apple or Acura are trying to fix this. There are a lot of very very unhappy customers. I’m debating on getting rid of Apple....my car was way more money than this stupid phone

If restarting your device or re-pairing doesn't work then most likely Acura will need to release new firmware to be compatible with iOS 12. Just realize that this isn't just an Apple issue. If you read Android forums their users complain about the exact same thing with OS updates. Until there is a universal standard on how a phone connects to a vehicle's system there will always be problems - especially the older the vehicle gets. Unfortunately most vehicle manufacturers only care that it functions at the time of purchase and don't do much to fix the issues after the fact. I've even seen that some manufacturers will say they will only look into issues with the entertainment system for 1 or 2 years beyond the initial purchase despite any warranty on the vehicle.

I have the same issue... finally have my phone book favorites to work... but any of map apps will not voice over during a trip. Very frustrating... and not very safe to continually need to “read” the map instead of hearing directions. I have not received helpful info from either support line (Acura or Apple)... hoping someone will add this code fix to one of their programming sprints. Please.

Sometimes after an update issues can appear, but often a simple reboot resolves them.

Reboot your iPhone 8. Press and quickly release the volume up button. Press and quickly release the volume down button. Then, press and keep holding the power button (hold past the swipe to shut down) until the Apple Logo appears, then let go of the power button. Your iPhone will reboot. See if this helps.

If it doesn't have your phone forget your Acura, then repair it again.
