I am currently using my mid 2011 Imac display connected to my mid 2015 Macbook Pro and would like to know how to overcome it exiting from display mode when my macbook goes to sleep. In other words when I wake up the macbook I have to use control F2 to get the imac displaying the macbook

Best help ever! Thanks. I believe my imac is dying but the monitor seems ok right now. Eventually I will replace it but really am hoping for Apple to release a newer imac this year. I needed a work around and now I have it until my imac display goes.
If you set the displays to never turn off and have the screen savers set to run after 10 mins, it won't hurt anything.
Not going to happen if you continue to use Sleep.
My issue really is I will be gone for two weeks and need to leave on for my husband who isn't tech savvy. Will it hurt it not put it to sleep for two weeks?
