Hard Drive Failing, Battery Failing Message... Advice for fixes or new computer?

Well, it happened...I bought this macbookpro ( MacBook Pro (13-inch, Mid 2012)) ( now about 3 years ago and it always had some issues. I regret not making more of a fuss then, but I was always so busy. Now its been acting even buggier. The OS updates overtime seemed to help a bit, but I ran EtreCheck ( partial report below) and it pointed out the battery was dying and my HD was failing. Now I am unsure wheather to just replace the HD with SSD and "service" the battery or buy new macbook pro? Financially I would rather just fix it, but I am not sure what drive is okay to buy online. I like the idea of adding a good size SSD drive. I mainly do some high res photo editing and text work, so I need more physical space.

I can open up the computer (I have a proper screw driver kit for when I added memory), so I am pretty confident I can install the HD myself.

Questions:

  1. How hard is it to just buy a new SSD drive and replacement battery?
  2. If so, what should I buy, and is it okay to just order off of Amazon rather than go to an Apple Dealer?
  3. I see Samsung drives on Amazon for example? Any recommendations?
