Should I be turning my XR off at night?

I’ve looked and looked and can’t seem to find a clear straight forward answer. Should I be turning my XR off at night or periodically? Any information on this topic would be greatly appreciated.

You don’t have to. In fact, if you have iCloud backup on, it will backup automatically if it is connected to WiFi, connected to power, and the screen is locked. This is what I do with my phone. Sometimes I will turn it off or force restart it but general I leave it on all the time.

There is no technical reason you should turn your iPhone off or restart it, unless it is misbehaving. My phones stay alive 24/7 unless I am going places where phones must be powered off for safety or security reasons, or I have a problem charging and I need to protect the battery level.

Turn off at night no, unless you don't want to be disturb, but you could use the do don't disturb feature.

Periodically - to power off and power back on then yes, doesn't hurt..

How often do you restart or turn off your computer or MAC if you own one?

I don’t own one. I just got the XR but when I had my 6s the guy at the apple store told me to turn it off periodically.

Thanks for all the replies. I know about the back up while it’s locked, on WiFi, and connected to a power source. I’m just trying to learn as much as I can to help this phone last as long as possible and I know there’s newer technology so I was trying to find out about turning it off with the new technology.
