Touch sensitivity of iPhone XR

I just got a new XR. I notice that it is very sensitive to touch. Since I carry it in my pocket it turns itself on from time to time. Is there a way to get it to only turn on when I click a button or is it possible to set the sensitivity to touch so that it takes more than casual contact to light it up?

Hello and welcome to Apple Support Communities, rbcoast!

I understand you've noticed the screen of your iPhone XR turns on while it's in your pocket, and you want to make sure it doesn't do this. I'd be happy to help you change your settings.

You can disable Raise to Wake to avoid your display turning on: Use Raise to Wake on your iPhone

However, if that's not helping you, you can also disable Tap to Wake by going to Settings > General > Accessibility and turn off that feature.
