Can you check service and support coverage of apple devices without it being logged in?

Hello I would like to ask if it is possible to check the coverage of the warranty on a device that has not been logged in with an apple account.

For example, I am looking at a new macbook air 13 inch model and its still sealed but i can see the serial number sticker at the back.

will i be able to check the coverage of this product with the serial number provided at the back? and if it does show up on the coverage website of apple, it means it is a legitimate product?
