Problem with safari

My safari isn’t opening any webpages and showing the below error message. The app crashes when I attempt to go into preferences

I urgently need internet access and wish to download chrome. I read somewhere that terminal can be used to access the link.

Can you provide me with the correct command and correct link for this please as I’ve no idea what I’m doing.

if you have any suggestions as to the problem, and how to fix it I’d appreciate it.

Thanks

Thanks for offering all your advice. The problem, whatever it may have been, has been resolved with a reinstall of MacOS. Will be sure to download chrome now just in case this ever happens again!!

If the above doesn't work, try setting up another admin user account to see if the same problem continues. Please post back on whether or not this worked. Also try the Safe Mode. Please post back on whether or not this worked.

If it works in the Safe Mode, try running this program when booted normally and then copy and paste the output in a reply. The program was created by Etresoft, a frequent contributor.  Please use copy and paste as screen shots can be hard to read. Click “Share Report” button in the toolbar, select “Copy to Clipboard” and then paste into a reply. This will show what is running on your computer. No personal information is shown.

Hi

yes I’ve tried all that. I’ve rebooted multiple times and Also in safe mode and tried setting up different users. I’ve troubleshooted a whole sequence of actions. And the problem continues. It would be great to be able to get hold of chrome so I can do my work today. And when I have time I’ll try to uninstall and reinstall the macOS. Please help. Thanks.
