Photos on external hard drive
I need to create a new Photos library on an external hard drive (previous library became corrupted). Besides creating this new library, what is the best way to store my photos?

If you move the library to an external drive, the drive needs to be prepared as described here:
Move your Photos library to save space on your Mac - Apple Support
To create a new library, hold down the options key while launching Photos. This will bring up the library Chooser panel. See this Help page: Create additional photo libraries in Photos on Mac - Apple Support
on your Mac is open, choose Photos > Quit Photos. But have you already tried to repair your existing Photos Library?
Repair your library in Photos on Mac - Apple Support
on your Mac is open, choose Photos > Quit Photos.Yes, I did try to repair the library, but it could not be done. Also tried using disk utility to repair the file (first aid) and it too, failed. I did multiple attempts to copy the photos library to another device, but each time got error 36 when it could not copy a section (some data could not be read or written). I'm at a loss on how to recover that photos library. Meanwhile I wanted to create a new photos library on an external hard drive. Is this the best way to store photos?
