Photos on external hard drive
I need to create a new Photos library on an external hard drive (previous library became corrupted). Besides creating this new library, what is the best way to store my photos?

To create a new library, hold down the options key while launching Photos. This will bring up the library Chooser panel. See this Help page: Create additional photo libraries in Photos on Mac - Apple Support
- If the Photos app
on your Mac is open, choose Photos > Quit Photos. - Hold down the Option key and double-click the Photos icon in the Applications folder (or click the Photos icon in the Dock) to open Photos.
- In the Choose Library dialogue, click Create New.
- Type a library name and choose a location to store the library.
- Click OK.
But have you already tried to repair your existing Photos Library?

- If the Photos app on your Mac is open, choose Photos > Quit Photos.
- Press Option-Command and double-click the Photos icon in the Applications folder (or click the Photos icon in the Dock).
- In the Repair Library window, click Repair to rebuild your photo library.
