Students Appear Offline in Apple Classroom

This is a CONSTANT problem for our school. We have random students that appear offline in their teacher's apple classroom. Both ipads are connected to the same wifi and bluetooth is on as well.

Steps we've taken:

1)Checking wifi/bluetooth

2)Removing student and adding back in

3)Hard resetting the student ipad

Sometimes I'm able to wipe the student's ipad completely and start it over. That seems to help for a short time, but sometimes they come back and tell me a teacher can't see them again.

What is could/should we do?!?!

This question is posted all over with no suggestions or responses. Can’t someone please help?

This is a really serious issue for teachers. I have stopped using the app due to problems which is really annoying. When working in an 1 to 1 environment, this app is really necessary for classroom management and there is not enough class time to restart and reinstall and everything else...

Please help.

What we recently found is that if the management settings allow students to turn off Bluetooth or to switch the device to Airplane mode, then the Classroom App will recognize the device as offline.

If your school uses a MDM, have them lock the settings on the student devices and if the issue continues you will know it is connectivity and not the device.

I really hope this helps!
