how do I turn off the location icon?

Is there a way to turn off the location icon in the menu bar? It's gotten annoying as the menu bar is so full that more important icons have no space to display.

They do seem to be stuck at 10. I'm waiting to see what happens when they get to 10.99. Of course, I'm stuck at 10.13, mine is too old for Mojave, but, like with my iPhone, an upgrade while this is still working is just too expensive. $1k for a cellphone? Ugh. I also miss the days of Jobs, they just don't seem to do innovation anymore, it's more a catch-up company now.

Anyway, thanks again.

Your welcome Mike.

I meant 10.4 went to eleven, since then they just crank out a new version for us to test instaed of fixing up the existing one. :(

I'm stuck at 10.12 because my legs are trembling just thinking about all the problems that come with the newer versions, the loss of features I use, & the bloat of new featureless features.

Go to the  Apple menu and choose “System Preferences”

Select “Security & Privacy” and go to the Privacy tab

Choose “Location Services” from the left side menu and scroll down in the list to find ‘System Services’, then click on the “Details” button

Uncheck the box next to “Show location icon in menu bar when System Services request your location”

Exit out of System Preferences as usual
