Can I connect my Xbox controller to my iPhone?

I tried connecting my Xbox controller to my IPhone and it wouldn’t work. Can you help me?

Xbox one controller supposedly will connect.

Put controller in pairing mode, open Bluetooth on phone and connect.

Whatever game you are using has to support the controller.
