Sorry, confused why you marked your post as "Solved" when it appears not to be.
We will try to help, but this appears to be an issue with the Apple TV.......and you have posted in the support forum for the AirPort routers......the AirPort Express, AirPort Extreme and AirPort Time Capsule.
You may have a faster and more informed response if you post your question in the support forum for the Apple TV which is linked below.
https://discussions.apple.com/community/appletv/appletv
Otherwise, you would bring up the main Apple TV page on your monitor
Select Settings
Select Network
Insure that "Ethernet" is selected
Here, we assume that you have already tested the Ethernet cable and connection from the AirPort router using a Mac to make sure that you can get a good Internet connection that way.......before......you connected the Apple TV.
Thanks and I'll repost in the correct forum.
There is no ethernet selection in the network pane of apple tv.
I'd heed the rest of your advice, but that would assume I have any other device with an ethernet port. I do not.
If the Ethernet port on the AirPort Extreme or Ethernet cable is not working correctly, then you will not be able to select Ethernet for the Apple TV setting. It will not appear.
If you are saying that your Mac does not have an Ethernet port, a Thunderbolt to Gigabit Ethernet Adapter - Applehttps://www.apple.com › All Accessohttps://www.apple.com is a might handy item to have in your desk drawer for times like this when you need to check an Ethernet connection for proper operation, or transfer a lot of data to another device 3-5 times faster than wireless.
Hi Bob-
I could not find a selection in the network tab of Apple TV to do that.... I selected "forget this WIFI network"
You did go into the Settings for the Apple TV4 and change the connection from WiFi to Ethernet, correct?
What other troubleshooting steps have you already performed?
